If you’ve been looking for things for the entire family to do as Halloween rolls around in Calamvale, you’ll want to make sure that you keep the “Movie in the Park” event on October 31 circled on your calendar!
A mountain of fun for the entire family (and especially kids), the Movie in the Sky of event coincides with the Halloween in the Park activities sponsored by the Calamvale District Park. Not only will there be a movie shown up on the “biggest screen of them all” – kind of like a drive in without the cars – but there will also be refreshments and other activities for kids that are looking to enjoy a unique spin on trick or treat this year.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the park a little bit earlier than 6 PM on October 31 (and even earlier than that if they’d like to mix and mingle with other families and other children that will be dressed up in costume), and the movie will start about an hour or so after that.
This year’s Movie in the Park is going to be “The Box Trolls”, a movie that is completely suitable for children of all ages. It’s a feel-good Halloween story for children in Calamvale, and while the subject matter is (obviously) a little bit on the spookier side of things, it is by no stretch of the imagination a horror movie.
Parents aren’t ever going to have to worry about their children having trouble sleeping that night after watching The Box Trolls, that’s for sure (though they might have their hands full with children after they get their tummies filled with candy)!
The official start time is 6 PM through 8:30 PM, but parents and family members are invited to show up to the Calamvale District Park (formerly St. Calamvale Park) a little bit earlier than that if they’d like to connect with other families, their kids, or meet new friends from the local community.
Everyone from the Calamvale District Park Department invites you to attend, and hopes that you’ll enjoy this annual iteration of the Movie in the Sky!
